Weird email from Digidesign

I received this weird email one hour ago :

Please use the tracking number(s) below to receive status of your
Shipment

Sales Order/Tracking numbers:

digidesign appreciates your business!


(i masked the numbers) What does it mean? Do I have to enter the numbers in a part of the site? That's weird, I don't know what to do with this...

If you weren't expecting this e-mail it's probably a virus. I got a similar one last week but not from Digi. My friend got one supposedly from Ebay that they needed all his info again but that was a fraud. Be careful out there!

A tracking number is used by whoever Digi used to ship your purchase.
Either Fedex or UPS.
You'll get shipment status by inputting that number at the appropriate site, www.ups.com or www.fedex.com

I have gotten those before....don't touch it. Nothing that comes out of the ordinary. IF you can download it from the manufactures site always do that.

Then, first off :
I purchased two things from Digi, the last being the manuals. I received them one month ago.
And secondly : this is from Digi themselves ([email protected]), so if it's a virus (which I thought it was in the first place) it's not normal it infected them (i think). And by the way I'm up to date with my virus definitions and nothing was mentionned by Norton... I replied to the mail asking explanations, I suppose I'll see.

Just because it says it is from ([email protected]), does not mean that it is from Digidesign. I have my own email server and spoofing of an email address happens all the time. It's strange that the shipping info was an attachment, usually it is just text included with the body of the email.

i got that mail too. the numbers correspond to the ones i got when i ordered protools 6.1.1 a month or so ago and the package arrived weeks before this helpful mail.
