Default PT 2021.12 on Mac OS Big Sur

Hi guys,

I've got an IMAC PRO with 32gb Ram currently on MOJAVE.
Im bout to upgrade from MOJAVE to Big Sur, anyone aware of any compatability issues? I rely heavily on PT 2021.12, Waves , Slate VMR / SSD5, Celemony Melodyne mainly.. anyone on something similar with any advice?

Last time i tried this a few years ago with the Catolina update my world got torn apart as nothing worked.

cheers and thanks

PT 2021.12 on Big Sur 11.6.3 here. It's one of the most stable PT setups I've had since PTLE 7.4! (Ok I just upgraded to 11.6.3 today, haven't tested yet, but on 11.6.2 it's been stable.) specs in signature (Hackintosh is on big sur; M1 MBA is on monterey and it's not very stable at all) ~peter in athens

I'm on Big Sur 11.6.1 (as of today 11.6.3 is available but I tend not to install anything not approved by Avid)
I work with the same app / programs you mentioned and it has been rock solid for me now.
It took a while to get my HD drivers (kext file) loaded / installed. But since that is been solved, I must say, it feels better then ever before.

rock solid for me.

good luck

Recently went to Big Sur (external SSD, clean install of OS with app migration) and surprisingly everything is running extremely well and seems faster than Mojave. 2018 i7 Mini. Mojave is still on the internal SSD but I’m booting from the Big Sur drive.

Wolfgang is totally correct! That is what I have been told as well. If you can avoid it I would. Maybe you can't with a newer Mac, but one reason I have not upgraded my computer since Late 2013 Mac Pro, but it works fantastic with my Atmos studio and no issues at all. Working on multiple projects with Catalina and have had no need to upgrade. I can't remember when I had a crash in my room. maybe 2 last year? Usually plugin moving related. Again, if you need to upgrade, just remember if you rely on a stable system like I do for deadlines in post etc., go with what is out there and wait on upgrading until it's out there for a few weeks at least. I do that with everything including security updates unless you know it's not problematic.

Well that is hopeful news! Maybe Monterey will be available someday for some users who have new equipment.
