Artist Mix - faders struggling against my fingers

I've had my Artist Mix for about 5 years and it's been fine but recently some of the faders struggle against my fingers - they're reluctant to write levels and keep trying to return 0.
It's really annoying. I don't want to start using more force as I don't want to damage the mechanism.
Has anyone got any tips to gently coax the unit back into submission?

Although not on a shared rig with Covid still around obviously.

That does seem to have possibly helped.
Makes sense that it's a conductivity issue.

Take the fader caps off and give them a good wipe down and the fader stems as well.

This is usually dirt in the faders. First try blowing them out with an air can.
