Default macOS Monterey 12.5

MacOS Monterey 12.5 has been released.

Looks like its mostly bug fixes and security updaters. Some of the security updates appear to be related to audio drivers.

Has anyone been brave enough to install it yet? If so, any issues?

I'm a coward! lol

I was considering it yesterday but haven't pulled the trigger just yet. I was waiting for a thread like this with reports from a few others. :)

2022.6 and OS 12.4 are stable so no real need to move. The only thing that piques my interest is a possible fix for some older plugins that won't load.

I updated to 12.5 yesterday and so far so good! Pro Tools 2022.6 on a Mac Studio, SSL 2+ interface (class compliant), powered USB hub working fine.

Updated both our 2015 and 2020 iMacs to MacOS to 12.5 with no issues. Everything working well.

Alex and Dave, does ProTools seem any different after the update? Smoother? More responsive? Or pretty much the same?

I haven't noticed any difference at all.

Amplitube 5 was giving me white noise blasts today, tho, which is new. I thought it had somehow de-authorized itself, but no. Haven't had them in a few hours...Everything else is super-smooth.

No difference here until I updated Pro Tools Studio to 2022.7.

2022.7 seems to use slightly more CPU than 2022.6 did so far. Its nothing major, maybe a few percent. and I may be imagining it. I will know after I work on a few more projects tomorrow.

But, overall, everything is very smooth and I have not experienced any plugin issues as of yet.

Just did an MacOS erase and reinstall to have a fresh start. It happened to update my 12.4 to 12.5 secretly in the background.

Considering that a varied number of underlying bugs might be now resolved, I was happy that Pro Tools (2022.7) opened just fine, scanned all my freshly installed plug-ins, worked just fine seemingly to do some editing.

Took about 6-7 lazy hours to undertake the fresh start, but no weird issues here.
