Default SPEED not rendering correctly

Forgive me if there is somewhere better to post, but I couldn't find any sound toys forums so thought I'd ask here.

I just got the SPEED plugin and am trying to use it to do a classic slow-down-pitch-and-speed effect, like just grabbing the varispeed knob and rolling it down.

It previews great but the result from AudioSuite only gives me a fraction of what should be the resulting file. Changing the various processing methods (individual files vs continuous, etc) gives varying results but it's never what I heard in the preview. usually the new file length is correct, but there's only audio for the first half of the time (or less).

Any thoughts?

PT10.2.0, Mac 10.6.7, MacPro 1,1

SPEED got a little buggy with PT10. There is similar problem when using it with the time expand trimmer tool. The resulting file is the right length but the audio inside is usually wrong. I don't think the bug has been fixed yet but SoundToys knows about it.

I still use Speed regularly but only with the knobs or graphic interface, and always get the results I expect. Are you saying you set the knobs, preview, render...and get bad results? Do you have a handle length set in PT preferences? I usually keep handle length set to zero, maybe that is part of the problem?

Using graph mode, and yes I set it, preview, sounds great, render, and the audio is goofed up (file length appears right as you say).

Not sure what my handle pref is set for - I believe it defaults to 2 seconds, and I also tried whole file, but may not have tried zero handles - I'll give that a shot later.

Thanks.

brilliant, ramping the handle down to zero makes it work - thanks Postman, not sure how I missed that when troubleshooting.

At least you have a workaround. It's too bad. Speed is such a great tool! I hope they fix it.
