Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 will not recognize M-Audio MobilePre (2nd Gen)
Good Morning
I am hopnig someone can help me sort this issue out.. I have a laptop running Win7 Home Premium (32bit) running Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4cs3 (I went through all the troubleshooting to get past the IE8 issue) Pro Tools launches but stops at hardware detection because it can not detect my brand new MobilePre (2nd Gen). I've installed driver vers 1.0.4 as found on M-audio's website. and can not get Pro Tools to see it. The frustrating thig is that the MobilePre works out of the box as my default audio device for Windows and Adobe Audition, but I am trying to re-aquaint myself with Pro Tools for work. I'd use the Pro Tools SE that came with the MobilePre (2nd Gen) if it would get past the CPU detection portion of the install. My laptop only has a 1.4Ghz processor, and Protools SE requires a minimum 1.8Ghz. Thanks to anyone who can help. |

Dstaff,
You stated "I have a laptop running Win7 Home Premium (32bit) running Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4cs3"...Pretty sure this is your dilemma. Your version of PTMP is simply not compatible w/ windows 7. You need to be at version 8.0.4. Check out this link. It'll state what's compatible and what's not. http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=354149 Hope this helps. Take it ease.

Re: Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 will not recognize M-Audio MobilePre (2nd Gen)
Hi Jasconito
I actually came across the intial Win7 Pro-Tools 7.x issue first and found a fix for it. there is a thread on the m-audio forums (which are down for maintenance right now) that lead me to an external site with a registry hack that fixed the incompatibility issue. the issue was not so much Win7 but that IE8 is integrated into Win7, and IE8 was the issue. If you google "Black and Blue Ink.’s Lyricist Manifesto, “Left Hook,” and The Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 Windows 7 Fix" you will find the fix I am speaking of. (I'd post a link, but my account is too new) This registy hack fixed the issue of Pro Tools 7.4 not being able to even launch. now it just says it can not detect my M-Audio device. So I'm assuming (and maybe incorrectly) that the issue is now that my M-Audio hardware is too new and that it's device drivers are not recognized by Pro Tools. Cheers Dean |

Re: Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 will not recognize M-Audio MobilePre (2nd Gen)
Dstaff, I am currently working on getting 7.4 working with Windows 7. Did you have to install a 32 bit version of Windows because when I tried installing 7.4 it said that it wouldn't work with 64 bit. I have yet to try the fix you posted though.

Okay. Hmmm, I'm wondering if windows will allow me to install as 32 bit from a 64 bit system.
