Effect the voice any way you want to get deep/grumbly/shrill or whatever then reverse add a phase shift and reverb (med. room). Record the phaseshifted reverb and reverse it agian and apply to the original voice slightly earlier.
Mix together for clarity and effect.

I recommend adding a whisper track into that mix for extra spookiness.

Good suggestions...... I love spookie stuff.

It would also be great to have a Reverse track of everything the 'ghost' says, just behind the Main spoken track, along WITH ReniuR and Mr. 7's effects.....woooooo!

Of course, this requires a 'Reverse' plug-in, which is included with either Bomb Factory or GoldWaves Bundle(sorry for vagueness).

I get what your after

The reverse effects will be really cool. Just reverse the recording, add effects and reverse again. Instant strange. I'd use reverb, and maybe a phaser or pitch shifting or something...

Darren,

Redarrow32 should check that out. I would think it's perfect, because it's eerie, yet very understandable.....Coolness....

Roy

p.s.Reverse is in PT? That's great. I didn't notice it til I got BombFactory & GWBundles. My plugin list has grown huge.......

Pitch .
Try adding major 3rd and maybe triton (dim. 5th)and all sort of "harmonies" to create this spooky sound. this is what use mostly.
Also resample the audio (get it octave lower). take it outside protools and resample it as 22.05khz and then put it into the 44.1 (if this is the resoultion you're using) you should get the voice octave lower this create some sort of spooky sound also.

well.......Mainly the reverse with a phaseshift as I described and I added oh so very slightly a second higher pitch voice (no effect) and a very faint synth pad.
