Default Warning! - Security Update 2007-004 (PPC) for OS 10.4.9

After this update Pro-Tools HD 7.3.1cs2 will unexpectedly quit while loading the DigiRewire plug-In.
If you have already done this security update and if you don't need the DigiRewire Plug-In than just move this plug-in out of the Plug-Ins Folder. Or if you have a full working system backup (as I do) than you can go back to the pre- security update status of your system and you can use DigiRewire again.

Good to know. My rig is down at the moment, had a new hard drive go down and I'm waiting for a replacement but I do have clone.
I wonder what Apple "fixed" that "broke" Rewire. I might shoot an email to the PropHeads to let them know just in case it needs to be fixed on their end.

I went back to the OS that have the security update installed on it and I moved the DigiReWire plug-in back to the Plug-Ins Folder and before starting up Pro-Tools 7.3.1cs2 I downloaded and installed ReWire 1.7 from Propeller Heads.

It solved the incompatibility problem so Pro-Tools 7.3.1cs2 is working fine with ReWire under OS 10.4.9 with Security Update 2007-004 (PPC) installed!

I would like to know how other folks solved this situation or if they had this problem in the first place at all!?

Rewire 1.7 is included with Reason 3.0.5 so if you do not have that version of Reason then you can install seperately. I think its only for Intel Macs or PCs.

The ReWire 1.7 Update is a Universal Binary for both PowerPC and Intel Macs, and Windows XP. Anyone that needs to reinstall it can find it in our featured downloads section, with the link to the Propellerheads page:
http://www.propellerheads.se/download/updates_rewire/

It's a bit confusing because of the users it lists that do not need it.
But in a case like this where you just need to reinstall it, the update can be installed by users other than those listed.
