Default Home screen-folder navigation

Hi,
I always use track folder spill to help me navigate in large sessions.
Is there any way to show only folders at the bottom of the home screen?
But still have open folders in PT.

Now I use the Tracks screen and only show folders but it's a bit of s hame to pretty much use the MTM for just folder spill and tend to leave like that as I always want to have it at hand.

Greetings,

Although you can manage the state of basic and routing folders from the Master Module Tracks Page, I find it much more efficient to perform spills directly from the desk channels. Here are a few options:

Allocate a Spill Zone -> and load in L Spill > Tracks > Folders.
Use Menu > Spill R or configure Auto-Spill to place the nested items into the Spill Zone of your choice. For 24 fader desk configurations, 8 + 16 is a popular way to allocate between food groups and spilled members.

Create a start layout composed of the Folders and VCAs which essentially house all of the food groups, returns, chains, and every possible unit within the session. Prioritize the placement of the folders within the Track Layout such that the most critical items are accessible and placed on the appropriate page whether accessed in a 1:1 or within a smaller contained Spill Zone. Use Menu to navigate up or down the nested tree for folder structures.

For control groups and gain staging - place VCA masters for key items on the top level of the same layout - which provides gain control but also a way to quickly spill elements which may be a few layers inside of the top folders. So - essentially you are creating a shortcut or alias to a subset of elements which are also accessible from folder spill.

best,

Jeff

Thanks for the tips Jeff!

Our desk is 16+16.
The way I prefer to work(right now)is to have the left side floating(not a spill zone)
and have the right side as a spill zone.

The reason for me using the MTM as a spill selector is to not having to "waste" faders as a way for spilling folders.
Even thou I could see the use for that in some cases.

Using the MTM tracks page(folders only) for spilling works ok for me but wasting very much screen space.

But using lower part the Home screen track scroller would be even more useful.
That way I could see meters at the top, maybe eq graph in the middle and having the track scroller at the bottom showing folders only would make a fantastic workflow for me.
Is it possible to make the track scroller show only folders?

What do you think Jeff(or anyone else)?
Is there a way?

Can you build a layout with the Folder in it? That would just show them on the Scroller and allow them to be spilled ?
