Default how can i listen to mp3s and cds from my computer using the asio driver?

I'm just setting up my digi 001 system. I'm using a pair of event monitors plugged directly into the DIGI 001. When i initally set up Pro Tools i was using the wave design and i could listen to cds, mps, and pro tools files through my monitors. Recently, i downloaded and installed the ASIO driver to reduce the latency when using my Oxygen 8 with Reason. Now I can't figure out how to get cds and mp3s to play again. Any suggestions?

use your onboard sound and get a 1/8th stereo to 2 1/4 in jacks, and just plug the 1/4 in jacks into inputs 3 and 4 and you can just switch monitor modes when you want to listen to CD's

Hello. Kiddakota the ASIO driver disables your Wave Driver which you use to listen to CD's, MP3's, etc. Until they release a bug free ASIO driver try what Calvin says.

If you have no onboard sound you can plug
Calvin's cable into the headphone jack on the
front of the CDROM if you have a jack there.
Some CD drives don't have a jack on the front.

hey man, what you need is a music player that supports ASIO. Steinberg has a music player but it doesn't supoprt ASIO (very funny huh), I only found that on Native Instrument Traktor DJ Studio (best choice) and DSS (from v4.0). Remember that the sound sounds like the worth thing of your audio chain, so, preferably, don't use your onboard sound card. Mine really sucks.

If anyone see any movie player or audio filter with ASIO support, please post it! (and I don't mean an audio app like Nuendo or Cubase that you have to decompress the entire audio before watching the movie)
