Default FireWire/G4 connect shutdown...

Anyone been in the situation where connecting a VCR or video camera to your Blowhole G4 via FireWire shuts the computer off (with extreme prejudice!!)?

I have to remove the FireWire cable from the G4, power down the AC supply to the computer and then all is well to reboot.

My G4 has been problem free, running OS 9.2.2, PT 5.3.1 w/HD3 and 7-slot expn chassis... I've tried it with all the connected/unconnected, on/off permutations... Tried File sharing on/off, ethernet connection on/off....

Is this possibly an extensions conflict issue?
