Default MBox Mini - USB Device not recognised

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this.

My MBox Mini (3rd Gen) was running fine last week and now Windows won't acknowledge it. I've tried installing the latest driver and changing USB ports but each time I get "USB device not recognized" error.

I should add that it doesn't seem to be the MBox Mini hardware as when i plug it into my notebook it works fine.

Default Re: MBox Mini - USB Device not recognised

Apologies...here is more information on my system.

DELL 8300 Desktop PC
Intel Core i&-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
16.0 GB RAM
Windows 8.1 Pro
AVID Mbox Mini (3rd Gen)
Pro Tools 11.1.2
Other USB connected devices - Microsoft Wireless Keyboard/Mouse and iLOK

I have tried using different USB cables and the problem is specific to this desktop machine as the device works fine on my notebook PC.

Have removed and re-installed both the current and previous version of the mbox mini driver.

Probably unrelated to this, but...

It appears you have three 2 GB drives...C: "Hard Disk", D: "Media", and F: "System".

The names are a bit confusing...

Which drive contains your OS, programs, and plugins?

Which drive contains your Pro Tools sessions and audio?

Which drive contains you samples and VI libraries?

On point, have you turned off any "power saving" or other auto-shutdown features on your USB ports?

Just rockin'...what more is there?

Hey there.

Which drive contains your OS, programs, and plugins? - "Hard Disk"

Which drive contains your Pro Tools sessions and audio? "Media"

Which drive contains you samples and VI libraries? - Sorry not sure what you're asking for

The "System" drive is just a 100MB partition that windows created. I don't believe this is attributed to my current issue.

As I originally noted, probably not

Did you check this: "On point, have you turned off any "power saving" or other auto-shutdown features on your USB ports?"

Thanks yes I did check the power settings for the USB but they are as they should be.

UPDATE: I have a workaround but it doesn't solve the issue. As it returns every time i boot now.

Still struggling with this issue. I'd like to avoid doing a complete OS re-install.

I'm having the same issue. I'll post on a separate thread to detail the specifics of my system and the history. But needless to say, you're not alone with this struggle! I haven't found an answer yet either.

I have the same problem. Got a brand new Mbox mini 3gen. Got the second latest driver (1.1.7), the newest would not download. Only the blue power light is on on the front of the interface. Reinstaled driver. Usb power saver is not on.

The control panel shows 'hardware not connected' - 'not streaming'.

This was disapointing to say the least..
