Default Good Eq\'s?

Hi just wondering what are some good Eq equipment to buy for a low budget?

Im looking at the behringer TUBE ULTRA-Q T1951 Product

or maybe something like this Presonus

i know the presonus is probably better quality than the behringer but i like the idea of having 4 Eq's on it and it being tubed.

any thoughts on the sound of these products or other products that would b good to look at? but please keep in mind im on a tight budget.

Check out some of Alesis's DEQ's. Not as cheap as Behringer, but still value for money. And of course there's always plug-ins... Digi's EQ III will cream any Behringer product, Waves Q10 can be had along with Tru Verb & L1 etc in their Native Power Pack (for around $700 AUS).

B EQs suck donkey
havnt used the presonus but it wouldnt be great
the older Alesis EQs are terrible but i havnt tried these new ones. but they are Graphic when uve been looking at parametric
first try and get your results with the EQ3 it is very good
i dont know of any good cheep parametric EQs. there are a few decent cheep analogue GEQs if you wanted to go that way

Plugins are a better buy for the money.

URS is awesome, McDSP FIlterbank is SWEET, SonyOxford is Divine, Elemental Audio is Superb.

I just came wandering by and could not resist supporting the above quote 100%.

Unless you have some REAL good ADDA chain you should stay digital all the way.

best

ok cool i like ur suggestions and there helpfull.

i use Plugin Eq's alot but i was just thinking about buyinh a cheap EQ for the tom-toms on drums and maybe sanre. simply just to cut out any annoying rings or hums etc.. i wouldnt be actually be putting gain on any of the Eq to get a good sound but to simply cut out annoying sounds before it hits the digital domain.

THis is how i was planning to go about it.

Mic ----> Eq ----> Preamp 002rack/ M-audio Octane

anymore suggestions?

Outboard EQs would be line level. You wouldn't be able to run it the way that you are planning; it would have to come after the preamps.

Neither the 002r nor the Octane have inserts so you wouldn't be able to put the EQ after the preamps with either.
