PT 6.4 - whats a "wrapped" plug-in?

In the 6.4 What's New doc, it's listed as one of the heirarchical plug-in catagories (with no explanation)... Does this refer to PACE-wrapped plug-ins—that is, trial-period protected—& not anything related to "wrappers" for VST, Audio Units, etc.?

It has nothing to do with PACE-wrapped plug-ins -- it refers to plug-ins running via an RTAS-emulation wrapper (like the one from fxPansion).

regarding wrappers: does fxpansion's VST to RTAS wrapper really work OK? does it cause instability? is there a AU to RTAS wrapper? if so, does it work? does it cause instability? is there a list (or some research) of problem plugins when using wrappers with PT 6.4?
