Default Place your bets..

Well Namm is nearly upon us any smoke signals coming from the Avid camp?

I think if there's nothing announced at the show for the 11R then that has to be the nail in the coffin for sure. The amount of folks I've seen sell there units due to Avids lack of interest is just crazy.
I hope they sort there [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] out for the show otherwise they will probably get attacked by all the pissed users that come round to there stand ;-)

How much will I win if they don't announce anything

Nope I reckon nothing.Maybe an expansion pack.In these times of austerity and sizing down, the future of prototyping and innovation is bleak.

The thing is profiling an amp takes minutes so Avid really don't have any excuse they could do 20 amps in a lunch break lol

Well given that TheChimp asked a few weeks back opinions/choices on a standalone editor it would be perfect timing for Avid to release it at Namm 2013. However, I'm not holding my breath! If once again the 11R sees no attention at Namm 2013, then I'm also of the opinion that the 11R coffin has finally been nailed shut by Avid!

The time and effort it takes to model or profile new amps/pedals, etc is one thing; whether Avid WANTS to do it is another.

So far, they've been avoiding answering any questions, and generally letting it die on the vine. Someone from Avid pops up every so often on this board, plants a non-committal comment, and stirs up speculation about what's going to happen, but nothing comes of it. As much as it pains me to say, if we don't get any news about 11R upgrades/expansions from Avid during NAMM this year, you can take that as effectively being the official "announcement" of the end of the 11R.

We can hold out to see what happens, hoping for something, or we can dump our 11s before Avid announces nothing, and 11s lose ALL of their value. Think we can get a bulk purchase deal from Fractal or Kemper?

Maybe, but it'll still be pretty expensive!
