Unhappy Editing problem/bug

I am having this editing issue with Pro Tools M-Powered 9... Can anyone help?? Even when GRID is turned on regions besome longer or shorter when copied and pasted or duplicated. A similar problem occurs with midi data, even with GRID on and when using quantize the notes don't snap exactly to the bar... Both these issues cause serious headaches when editing and arranging. Please watch to the end of the video to see the issue. Also notice the same issue is affecting the regions in the track below.

Just an update on the above issue... I have tried a clean uninstall and fresh re-install and the issue is still present... If anyone could help with this it would be very much appreciated...

A few points to remember...

  • This occurs in GRID mode with GRID switched on and set to 1 BAR as you can see from the video.
  • The amount that the copied region either falls short of or passes the BAR line is so miniscule that it's only visible on full zoom but still not preferable for editing.... and particularly causes problems with midi.

Just to show how long this problem has been going on, here's an old post where I discussed this issue (this time relating to midi) with other forum members. As you can see other people have been experiencing this problem with PT for years and Avid don't seem to be doing anything about it!

Hi Guys,
Is there a way of contacting Avid support directly about this issue? As everyone seems to be pretty stumped about it.

Thanks
Hi,

Are you in manual tempo mode?

Are the tracks tick or sample based?

Any of the tracks in elastic audio mode?

Chris

Hi Chris,
Thanks for responding to my post. To answer your questions...

No I'm not in manual tempo mode

The tracks are tick based

None of the tracks are in elastic audio mode

.....

Any thoughts?
