Default Re: rulers/time base

Well Thuja: I presume you use an Audiomedia or Digi 001 ?
Digidesign has decided not to provide the LE-version with a timecode-ruler since it feels this would be a thread to their TDM systems: for musicproduction only they say....tough luck.

Don't like it ? Sign the petition: http://www.digidesign.com/ubb/Forum25/HTML/000260.html

Btw: if you are in Europe and need to spot to 25 fps (EBU) or 30 fps, you can use the bars + beats to do it:

For 30fps, set the tempo to 225,0 and the grid to 32nd notes: 1 grid = 1 fps
For 25fps, set the tempo to 187,5 and the grid to 32nd notes: 1 grid = 1 fps

Maybe this could help some spotters out there that didn't think of this already.

Another way around this is, assuming you know what frame you want to start on, is just to make that the session start, and place the movie at the beginning of the session. Then, if you want to change the session start to something else, just use "maintain timecode" and you'll be all set.

Default rulers/time base

Hello:

I'm using 5.0.1. I am trying to spot audio to a movie. Pro tools will not allow me to set the time base or the time rulers to Time Code, or to feet:frames. Neither of these options is showing up in the ruler menu or the time base menu. I am allowed only to set the rulers as bars:beats, min:sec, or samples.

How do I make pro tools allow me to set the ruler and the time base to either time code ot feet:frames?

Thanks
