Re: can´t enable DMA
The guy who helped me get my system working had the same problem and could only get round it by installing Win 98SE rather than Me.

Re: can´t enable DMA
I read somewhere else on here that if it doesn´t cause you problems, then it´s not important.........at least I don´t think it´s causing problems......

Re: can´t enable DMA
With some high performance hard drive configurations, you won't get the option of selecting DMA. If the option isn't there, don't worry about it, you'll be fine.

Re: can´t enable DMA
-Not having an option to enable DMA on your drives can sometimes be problematic for PT LE. In addition, the drivers for certain UDMA controllers are known to prevent smooth thread scheduling and cause -9129/-9093/-9094 errors. Installing the generic IDE driver included with Win98/ME usually resolves these errors:
How to install the Generic IDE Controller from the Win98/ME CD-ROM: -Insert the Win98/ME CD-ROM -Open the Control Panels>System>Device Manger tab -Expand the Hard disk controllers list -Highlight the IDE Controller device, click “Properties” -Click the Driver tab and then the “Update Driver” button -In the Update Device Driver Wizard, enable “Search for a better driver...” and click “Next” -Enable the CD-ROM and click “Next” -Enable “Install one of the other drivers” and click “View List” **You know you have been successful when you open the Control Panels>System>Device Manager>Disk Drives list and your drive label reads “Generic IDE Disk” Once installed, enable DMA for all IDE/ATA drives according to the following link: http://www.digidesign.com/compato/98dma.html Brent |
