S1 Modifier Keys Held Down

Hello,

OSX 10.15.7 on late 2013 mac pro - PT Ultimate 2022.12 - Avid PT Carbon - Avid S1 - Avid control app on Amazon fire HD10

I was having the same issue with the S1 (basically any modifier keys I press once on the s1 gets held and stays that way).
I just installed PT 2022.12 but this problem still persists. EUCON and firmwares are all up to date as well.
Any help is appreciated, really want to use the S1 for upcoming mix projects and not have to return it

Bug is still not fixed in 2022.12. Just tested this out.

- MacOS 12.6.2
- Pro Tools 2022.12
- EUCONTROL 2022.9.0.44
- EUCON version 4.8.6.44
- Avid S1 firmware version 21.8.1.0

As soon as you click shift/control/OptWin/Alt a couple of time, it got stuck and Pro Tools is uncontrollable, neither with mouse and keyboard.

Fix will come with most likely Eucon/Eucontrol and not Pro Tools.
So nothing has changed yet. Have to wait for the next version of Eucontrol.

Ah sure, that makes sense. Hopefully it will be released today as they were aiming for January 12.

It wont be today as we ae a couple of late bugs we want to clear. Hopefully net week but maybe the following now.

Thanks for the update. In the meantime, do you know whether there is an earlier release we can revert to that will be compatible with PT 2022.12?

Just got Carbon a couple weeks ago - and updated to latest S1/ Eucon 2022.09.0.44, PT ULT 2022.12, iMac 2022 Intel running Monterey 12.6.2 - and lots of weird behaviors.

I will get "waiting for sync" or "pause" messages when PT becomes suddenly unresponsive via the S1 or the keyboard spacebar.

Today, I'm trying to set automation on a track (S1 shift + A/Rec button on track 5) and ALL channels engage to automation mode. Control-click sets all channels back to READ mode.

Yeah, my S1 has been collecting dust for a couple months while I do score mixes the pointy-clicky way. I know I could remap those buttons but they're part of my workflow and muscle memory.

I been encountering these same strange S1 issues. I'll go to put a track into automation or record mode, and the whole project goes into that mode. I assumed I was hitting some modifier key by mistake... since it doesn't seem to happen all the time.

However, what is repeatable, is the system locking up with a "waiting for sync" message after I hold the S1 OPT soft key and touch a fader to bring it to unity (0). That fader will go to 0 - but after that, PT is unresponsive both from my mapped S1 PLAY button as well as the iMac's keyboard. Nor can the S1 faders be adjusted. They all spring back to unity.

If I remember correctly, it is not enough to restart Eucon or the session. PT must be restarted to regain function.
