Default Installing PT 8 LE on Snow Leopard

Has anyone successfully installed PT 8 LE (or lower) onto a Mac running Snow Leopard (10.6)? It installs smoothly, but when I try and open it, I get an error: Unable to locate Digidesign hardware." The MBox 2 shows up in the control panel, though. I originally installed Pro Tools on Leopard (10.5) and it worked fine after I updated to 10.6. I recently did a clean install, which is why I'm installing PT again. I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the OS again, this time starting w/ Leopard, installing PT and then running the 10.6 upgrade.

Thanks,
-Adam

Make sure you have the correct MBox driver to match the OS version.

I updated to PT 8.0.5 LE, which supports Snow Leopard and I still get the same error. I have the most up to date firmware for the MBox 2, ver 1.43. Please Help!

Could the 1.43 firmware be what's giving me problems? Is there a way that I can downgrade to 1.38 and see if that works?

Possibly. That firmware update only addressed a problem with DAT decks and was otherwise untested.

Maybe. I don't own an Mbox 2 so I cannot comment further.

What interface do you use? Maybe it's the same process to uninstall/reinstall the firmware. You know how to do it with your interface?

I use my MacBook Pro's built-in audio I/O.

No one has any suggestions? I've been messing around with this for days now with no luck. I noticed that in the Audio MIDI Setup utility the MBox 2 shows up, but it says 0in/0out. So it's being recognized, but there's a problem with the communication. Please Help!!!!
