You'll find these files (which you can delete) in the following locations:
  • C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Pro Tools\Session Templates (Win)
  • /Users/*username*/Documents/Pro Tools/Session Templates (Mac)

I've created my own templates and I'd like to delete the ones that come stock with PT. I have deleted them several times, but it seems that every time I open PT up again it recreates all the stock templates and the folders they live in. Is it not possible to delete the stock templates?

Why bother, simply create a NEW folder (in the location specified above), give a meaningful name and put YOUR templates in that, then when you select "Create New" from the file menu, go to the "Template Group" drop down and select that folder et voila! each time you go to start a new session it will default to this location so you won't even see the "stock" PT sessions - unless you want to

I use my own folder(on my desktop) for session templates, track presets, audio IO setup and midi studio setup. Why, you ask? Mostly because an uninstall of Pro Tools will often uninstall that stuff too, if its in the default location. You can set(in prefs) for PT to look anywhere you wish.

BTW, I also keep a copy of that entire folder stashed on my Samples drive, just in case......
