Floating Faders appearing suddenly!

Hi All,

This is a new one to me - I've just opened an exported session from an editor - when I select a track, a floating fader appears.

If I select via the desk, no faders.

Using the mouse - if I select the track name, or click on the track in the timeline - fader appears. This is all tracks - new ones too.

I know about the mini fader icons - all good, but this is annoying.

I've been through preferences, view, etc and I can't find anything that makes this happen. All the more frustrating because - as ever - I've changed nothing!

I n ow it's me, and that I've missed something obvious, but could one of you wise ones point me in the right direction please?

Don't suppose you've got a Eucon control surface attached to this rig? If so it's in Eucon preferences.

I do! I've S3 Dock & Control - but I can't see the floating fader in the preferences or General. I'll keep digging. Thanks!

And it only happens when I select via mouse (the output tab highlights as well, if that's a clue?)

The floating faders pop up because of pan (which is the setting you are looking for in Eucontrol) since pan is on the same window.

"Open windows on workstation when editing"
make sure that drop down option isn't one that includes pan.

Set Open windows on workstation when knobs assigned from DAW click: in EuControl Settings > General to Off.

That did the trick. Thank you very much.

Now I've got to figure out why PT doesn't recognise the EUControl surfaces unless I restart EuControl! I suspect a bug from the latest update.
