Hello,
There is a function on the S1 (that I believe is by default) where the attention track on the control surface will auto scroll Pro Tools to that track. It's extremely handy, especially in large post sessions. I'm trying to find this function on the S6 and feel like I've toggled any/all options to get this to work but not having any success. So far the best I have is to hit Shift + Alt or Shift + Control and hit Select or the Attention button on the S6. This will do the trick but would rather have this happen automatically as it does on the S1. Any ideas?? |

Greetings,
It is possible to do this a few different ways: One option is to use the Tracks page (blocks) and in Attention mode, touch a track block. Make sure to enable under Tracks > Local Options (gear) Auto-Bank to Attentioned Track. Also in Pro Tools > Prefs > Mixing > make sure to enable Edit Window and Mix Window follows Bank Selection. ** You don't have to stay on the Tracks page - you could also touch the rainbow track scroller at the bottom of the Home page as well. ** best, Jeff |

Hi Jeff, I've always wanted to do this, but didn't think it was possible. I have enabled " Auto-Bank to Attentioned Track." and "Edit Window and Mix Window follows Bank Selection" enabled inside Pro Tools.
But when I attention a track from the surface (either MTM or Fader Module), the Edit window in pro tools does not scroll to the attention track. Is it possible there are other Prefs that might be negating this function?

Make sure you are using the Auto-Bank to Attentioned Track from the local options of the Tracks page and not the Settings > User.

Yes, I'm on the tracks page, and select the gear and turn on 'auto back to selected track'.

Ah! That's it. I had Auto-Bank to Track Mode = On in user settings.
Thanks Jeff! -EDIT- It worked a few times, then after opening a new session it stopped working agin. Maybe session settings conflict with its ability to work? I'll keep digging around the settings.

Cant get this to work either.
Jeff, I have all the settings the way you instructed but no reaction from PT when I attention a track. Is there any thing else I should check for? Like Lucienpalmer said, is there any session settings that could break this?

Interesting.. Can you try toggling
Tracks > Local Options > Auto-Bank to Attentioned Track = Off then Tracks > Local Options > Auto-Bank to Attentioned Track = On Let me know. Jeff |

Now PT scrolls to the attentioned track! (Feels like I've toggled that a bunch of times before thought)
But now it also Banks the console if I select a track in PT, even thought I have Auto-bank to track mode to off in settings. I only want PT to scroll to the attentioned track. Ideally I want PT to scroll to the attentioned track whenever I press the attention arrow above the fader or if I attention a channel from the tracks view. And the console shouldn't scroll to a track if I select a certain track in PT.
