The infrastructure is there for more than ten years. As Avid acquired Res Rocket Network they had everything they needed. That time I heard they wanted to use the technology for local networks...

Without intra-net support the colab-feature will be hard to establish in the post world. In many facilities the DAWs can not connect to internet but still have a group of people working on the same project in the same building. Would be great to update the mix-stage from next door without the whole track-export/import business.

Apart from the security aspect it wouldn't make much sense to send updates into the internet and back down again when the machines are on the same local high-speed network.

A peer-to-peer mode would be cool.

I would also like to see a white-paper on the encryption/data protection measures taken to secure this feature.
End to end encryption? Is the data encrypted at rest in the so called cloud?

We're not going to share mixes and polished video in the cloud. We're going to share Foley and music edits. Stealing that will be pretty disappointing. I just installed 12.5 this afternoon. Can't wait to test the cloud functionality. I've been needing it for years...
