cs updates, what folder

i was about to load the new pt7 cs update but im not sure where to put it. normally it will tell me which folder, but not with this one. thanx for any help

That is like most updates a self extracting/ .exe installer. It will find its own place...

i know, but this one didnt. it wanted to extract to my e drive. i dont know much, but i know its not going to my e drive. i figure somewhere in my c drive.

Maybe because last time you unzipped something, it was directed to your E: drive.
The download is a zipped folder, if you just double click on it XP should open it. Then you'll see a regular folder, inside which is a PDF document, and the .exe setup. Have you tried to run it ?
Make sure PT is closed while you doing this..
