Waves has only one plugin I have not yet found straight replacement, and it is the C6. Everything else is replaceable, but that is unique. I miss it every now and then.

These days I have only one waves plugin; the IR-1 Convolution reverb. I looked thru most of the items on sale now and the only thing that caught my eye was C4 multiband compressor at $25. I had access to it many years ago.
I used it then as a surgical tool, not for 'mastering', I seldom have anything on my main out except SSL Bus Comp. The C6 is $30, evn though it's just $5 difference, I don't really think I need the extra controls. What do you think?

If we're just comparing C4 to C6 then C6 is definitely worth the $5. The two floating bands make it much more useful.

But there are other alternatives. Fabfilter Pro MB is the first to come to mind.

I did the UAD buy 6 get 6. It was $700, but that's only $58 per plugin.

What I did was make a list of all of the really expensive plugins I wanted.

I think I'm done buying UAD for a few years.
