Re: Two options in hardware set up
I did my surround mix a couple of days ago and used the Omni because of the surround controller aspects. It went very well and saved a lot of set up and putting it back again time. So this is a viable option for working in different formats for now. I'm sure Carbon can work as a surround controller, but when using the monitor out, and the A, B, and C speakers options it seemed a little cumbersome to adapt. I used the Omni and plugged the cables into my sub. The main LR speakers stayed exactly the same and I calibrated and connected the Center and Surround speakers.
The Carbon stayed set up and connected to the B and C speakers. So switching back just meant connecting the LR from the carbon to the LR of the Sub. Reconnected and disconnected the Carbon/Omni interfaces and switched the LR back to Carbon at the sub. Back in business. Steve
