Default Reporting bug: laggy graphics w latest PT and Big Sur

Hi,

Been quite a while since I've come back to this board but I'm experiencing a weird bug and I don't even know how one is supposed to report bugs to avid anymore with their perpetual license/subscription model. Anyhow, here is the info:

Most current version of PT (2021.12) and most current version of Big Sur (2019 iMac i9 3.6ghz, 40GB of ram - sound condition, no problems with any other software or DAWs):

There's a strange lag in the graphics of PT only when resizing tracks in the arrange view or scrolling rapidly through the mix window.

When I scroll fast in the mix window the meters visual loads slower than everything else.

When I resize tracks in arrange, it's like the refresh rate is slowing or something. Hard to describe but I've occasionally seen a similar effect when using facetime on an ipad.

Even I should submit this in a specific place, feel free to let me know. Thanks!

I have the same problem on an iMac Pro (late 2017) with both Big Sur and Monterey.
I think it might be related to the iMac's monitor's refresh rate, but I'm not sure.
Have you managed to figure it out?

This forum is not for reporting bugs to Avid. They might spot them, they might not. They might respond, they might not. This is a user forum. You know that.

If you want to report a bug, whether it's for support or just for reference, use the Avid Support portal.

Both posters with the problem know that. I you read their posts again, you will see that.

The OP even asked specifically for this. So well done.

Thanks for the heads up.

I asked because if it is a screen refresh problem (which I suspect it is - weird gui redraw issues) there's nothing Avid can do about it. That's why I asked him if he managed to figure it out by now.

Honestly, there isn't much info out there about this problem, I just posted here in a last effort attempt to figure it out.

Rolled back to Catalina (even though the iMac came with Big Sur) and all issues went away!
