Avid Carbon Central

Gone are the days of Audio Midi Setup!!!

With the release of Pro Tools | Carbon Pre, we needed a better way to aggregate AVB streams... and AMS was not it.

Now both Pro Tools | Carbon & Carbon & Pro Tools | Carbon Pre customers can leverage a new simple setup application called Carbon Central.

It is now available via Avid Link and your Avid.com account.

Blarg... thanks for letting me know some of you are not seeing this. Working on it this week.

Is there any compatibility problem between Audio Midi Setup and Carbon Central?
Carbon Central see my carbon interface but can't connect it.
Should i deconnect something in the Audio Midi Setup?

It's not a compatibility problem, it's part of the design.
You need to choose whether to use AMS or Carbon Central.
If you want to use Carbon Central, you must uncheck Carbon in the AVB settings of AMS. You must also leave Carbon Central running while you use Pro Tools.

Yeah it really doesn't solve anything unless you run an expanded system (multiple CarbonPre's). Not really looking to run expanded and don't need yet another app running in the background.

I still dont see carbon central in my avid link. But now knowing this, I'll stick with what works unless I buy a carbon pre. I have no problems with my carbon and AMS.
