Default Punch-in, Punch out Markers

Is it just me, or would anyone else benefit from this(really great feature that I used in RADAR HDR)? I get tired of 'dragging' my selection, or even entering numbers in the transport(that I may have to look to identify first). Would it not be easier to, tap to punch in, tap to punch out, arm record and go?

I'm just sayin'...

I think what you're describing is QuickPunch...

No I'm not. But I guess the lack of response kinda answers my question.

If I get you right, you´re talking about creating in marker and out marker and then hitting record and having pt record throught the selection.

You can do this by playing and when you want to set the in marker press the down arrow key and when you want to set the out marker, press the up arrow key.

then press record with pre roll and post roll (if preferred) enabled.

Hope this helps.

If you mean you want to define your selection during playback,

Set pre/post roll and enable quickpunch, record arm, hit play, hit cursor down to define the punch in point, cursor up to define the punch out point.

Hit space to stop and hit NUM 3 to record! Obviously the timeline edit selection markers need to be linked for this to work (shift + /)

Hope this helps,

Tom.

BTW, this is great for loop record now they have finally added the option to create a new playlist for every record pass! It's disabled by default in the preferences mind...
