003 Rack Punch In/Punch Out Mystery

Hello All:
I am having a weird issue every once in a while where I will record a track, go back to fix trouble spots, punch in and record the new piece, punch out and everything looks fine. I will then go to the next trouble spot, hit that, but when I punch out, a huge piece of the track will appear to be missing to the eye. The file is still there and plays fine, but it disappears from sight...not the whole audio file mind you, just a little piece. If it doesn't disappear the other issue is that it will still show the original recorded audio, rather than all the punches I might have done it the section. When it does that, I can not go to my region marks and crossfade anything, they simply don't appear...it looks as though I never punched in, but you can still hear the edits when it plays back. Any ideas?

I am running the 003 rack with 7.3.1 with the cs update on a G4 dual 1 gig running OSX 10.4.6...Could it be that I haven't updated to 10.4.9? I am not sure how that would effect the particular issue...but maybe...

Which cs update do you have installed - 1, 2, 3 or 4?

CS3 is the first one to implement the fix for random region disappearance during when punching in.

Hi poorman, Hope you got a fix to your problem. Can you tell me please apart from this, how is the 1gig dual performing with the 003?
