Cannot get rid of Pro Tools Aggregate I/O after uninstall of Pro Tools 9
Hi,
I uninstalled Pro Tools 9.0.6 from my iMac Retina 2015 running macOS Mojave, removing what I thought were all the associated files. Yet despite this whenever I start up my Mac the audio output defaults to the Pro Tools Aggregate I/O and I cannot seem to permanently remove this from my system. I am using Logic and want to completely wipe all remains of Pro Tools. Is there an uninstaller that can do this? Why does this Aggregate I/O device keep reappearing? Any help greatly appreciated! |

Audio MIDI setup in Utilities folder in your Applications folder is where you can remove it.

Thanks for your suggestion - I have already tried this countless times. Makes no difference as the Pro Tools Aggregate I/O just gets repopulated in the list of devices in Audio MIDI setup after restarting the machine.

Cannot get rid of Pro Tools Aggregate I/O after uninstall of Pro Tools 9
Hmmm... that’s curious.
If you don’t delete it, select a different interface for system audio in System Preferences, does it stick on reboot? There should be no reason why it changes that setting on its own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Do you have another version of PT installed? If so, every time you start that it will recreate the aggregate device.

Unfortunately it doesn't stick on reboot, instead it defaults to Internal Speakers and the Pro Tools Aggregate I/O still appears in the list. I have an RME Babyface Pro which is what I would like to be the default output.

Re: Cannot get rid of Pro Tools Aggregate I/O after uninstall of Pro Tools 9
Hi.. no - I only had Pro Tools 9.0.6 installed on the Mac. There must be some files hidden somewhere which weren't deleted which make the system think PT is still installed..?
