Default Punch-in Footswith on 001...

Tech Support,
Would it be possible to make the footswitch also function as a start/stop? I noticed that I needed that feature the last time I used my 001 Live.

Darrell,

It's funny you should post that.

Today I decided to use the foot switch for the first time. I have a V-Drum set in my studio and wanted to do some over-dubs with midi. When I used my Boss FS-5U foot switch, I was surprised to see that PT didn't start recording - it just engaged the record button but didn't actually start recording.

After checking the manual I found that the footswitch jack was indeed working correctly an was disappointed that it wouldn't enable play/rec from the switch.

This woud be an awesome feature to have. Maybe there could be a preference setting allowing the user to switch between "record engage" and "play/record". Kind of like a check box or something. That has got to be an easy thing to add.

I have to enable "play" from the keyboard, then walk over to the drums to "punch-in record". It would be so much easier to enable play/rec from the drum set and not have to go back and forth all the time.

I agree dude. That is the greatest idea. It would be very useful for start/stop almost anything. Too bad they didn't add it.

Say it ain't so! No footswitch punch-in? How 'bout if you put 'er in Play first, or in some kind of loop playback? Can you use the footswitch to punch-in on the fly?
