Default Newbie with Pro Tools

I bought a Rode NT1A mic from my friend last week for half the price and he told me he tested it with Logic Express before he sold it to me. I just got my hands on PT8 and have been playing with it and haven't been able to record any vocals yet. What am I doing wrong? I want to get this thing up and running ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

You're going to have to provide a lot more information before anyone can help you.

First, read this.

Then, read this to make sure you're up to speed.

If you're still having problems after that, post again with the relevant info as outlined in the first thread I linked to.

Either take it back to your friend and make him show you how to use it, or go to your local music store and have them test it for you.
