I will test with the TR909 in SONG MODE
We said we were able to reproduce the problem in Song Mode, but not Pattern Mode. Can you please let us know if Pattern Mode is a problem for you? Thanks.

Hi axl, good to hear from you. Still problems with the MBC in 7.3? I am still on 7.1 and the only thing that I found can improve (but not solve) MBC lags is to check only the devices you want to receive MBC in the midi beat clock window. When I check only my Nord G2X to receive MBC, the G2X display only shows a -1 variation, so at 120bpm the G2X shifts between 120 and 119 with arpeggiated patches. When I want to send MBC to the G2X and the Waldorf Pulse, I check both devices in the midi beat clock window. I play the sequence in loop mode and arpeggios are slightly more off in loop playback than with just the G2X receiving MBC. If I check the ALL CABLES box in the MBC window I see a drift of +/- 2bpm on the G2X screen. No need to say that the drift is very noticeable. I use a MOTU Micro Express interface and each device is connected to a different MIDI port.
Digi - what equipment are you using to test MIDI?

One of the problems of midi clock jitters is that Windows and OSX are not real-time operating systems. I discovered this after a little search, I am not a real expert on this. On the other hand, Linux works in real-time so it seems immune to midi clock instability. This does explain why dedicated hardware sequencers such as the MPC are very tight, they work at low level. Nevertheless, I would like to know if we can expect less midi clock jitters in PT or this is it? Part of it is definitely Apple's fault, no doubt. Although, I agree that PT 6.4 had less midi clock jitter than the current PT 7.1 / 7.3, so what happened in between? Can we expect better midi performance from PT?

And one More TIME :

The problem is that MBC PT send : STOP + continue MESSAGE at the end of each LOOP. These messages were not present on the earlier V 6,4 .......... And it worked very Fine !!!!

Second : the problem of sync is only in LOOP PLAYBACK MODE.

Here is the list of the machines which doesn't like Protools MBC: IN PLAY LOOP MODE

TR909 ROLAND
XBASE09 JOMOX
REVOLUTION FUTURE RETRO
MPC2000 AKAI
TB303 roland ( yes with a Din sync converter , the TB has some trouble)
MAQ16/3 DOEPFER

Here's what he's talking about.
If you are running a looped area on PT the external sequencer starts when PT first starts, but when PT loops around the external sequencer stops.
It never stops recieving the MIDI clock it just doesn't recieve a message to restart when the PT loop comes back around to the beginning.
