Default Transfuser: Recording a drum pattern

I am new to Pro Tools and Transfuser. Between the manual and the accelerated videos I have not been able to figure out how to record into Transfuser.

I would like to record my own drum patterns into Transfuser using the drum pads in the Drum Seq section and my keyboard. When I play the keys on my keyboard, Transfuser plays the sequence but not the drum pads. I have "play pads" selected in the note range box of the Drum-Seq section.

I'm using a Novation ReMote 25LE which is connected via USB.

Also, did I understand it correctly that the accelerated video says I can record audio directly into Transfuser? That would be really nice. Is this in the manual somewhere?

Thank you

iMac 2.8 Ghz Intel Core Duo, OS X 10.5.4, MBox2 Pro, Novation Remote 25 LE, Glyph 500HD
