How Can I Hear The Vocalist Without Recording

I know this has been ask before because ive seen it on the forum but I cant find it. So Sorry for posting the question again -

I want to play the track (audio) and have the vocalist sing on top of the track without recording it. How can I do that in Protools? Once I press play, the mic is muted unless I press record.

alt-k toggles 'auto input monitor' on and off which lets you hear either the track input or what is already recorded on the track.

You can also just record and hit Ctrl-Z when you stop to undo the recording(the audio file will be gone), or use an AUX track set for the mic input. Just more options for you.
