No Worries. Just write "This is not a Bomb" on it with a Sharpie marker.

Thanks for the comments everyone. One more point: Pace stated my iLok was "damaged."

If I run my car into a tree, that's "damaged."

If the front bumper falls off, that's "defective."

Avid/Digidesign hired some thugs to protect their intellectual property. I'll now give this up as it is a waste of time fighting their little monopoly.

While I don't own either my understanding is that Steinberg and VE Pro use the eLiscenser scheme which similar to iLok. I bet that if the end users were given the choice to authorize via eLiscenser or iLok you might see iLok's attitudes change quickly if there was some real competition. The developers would need to offer their plugs wrapped either version in order for this to work.

Even Helen Keller could tell you the iLok2 is not constructed nearly as robustly as the original version.

I've had the little black plastic cap on two of the new iLoks crack already. No abuse, they sit on my desk next to my computer, I just pulled it off to use it.

They look better than the old ones and I like the smaller profile but they are cheep cheep cheep...

Out of the $3.00, $2.50 is shipping.

Same here. Cap cracked without any abuse.

They still are not that small, considering. They should be able to make them the same size as a BlueTooth dongle.

Not really fair. I know you are joking around, but the cost of materials is not the same as the cost.

Otherwise, that latest CD release should cost approximately $0.21.
