A bit more info here: http://newsblaze.com/story/201201190.../topstory.html
V3 soft seems to give more slots to SC48, 24 buss etc. Good job Avid.

So If I am A D show user with the FWx card, will this lift the recording cap from 18 to 32 tracks?

the way this is worded I cant tell if that is for SC48 users with FWx or ALL users with FWx cards.

Hope so that would be GREAT!

Yes. FWx users and SC48's get 32 tracks.

It is really good to see MANY features included that have been asked on ideascale!

But damn guys, you need to have more resources for development and move faster, all this is something that we should have had our hands on like a year ago! :))

When we finally get our FW 32 IO competition has come out with something that can push 48ch IO MADI thru USB2!

So now we need a MADI card for SC48 real quick, or better yet V2 desk with both FW and MADI built in :)

Or even better a solution using AVB with just hooking the ethernet cable from the redundant systems one connector (or better yet a router to have redundancy maintained) and running that direct to laptop and having that way access to all the streams. Of course Pro Tools update would be needed to have 32+ IO opened up and ability to access the ethernet port as an audio device or however this should work.

Just hoping to see you guys becoming a leader again and not chasing what others are already offering in a form or another. Remember how you blow everyone away introducing the D-Show?! That is what I mean

Don't get me wrong, I'm seriously happy to see these new things coming right now, but I want MOOORE and FAASTER!

I wan't something I did not know I wanted in the first place! I know you can do it.

Hi,
Any idea (even ballpark) what the cost might be for Venue 3?
Thanks

I'm led to believe that upgrade cost would be about the same as usual, i.e. around the £100 mark, however, there is always the possibility that Avid have decided otherwise.

Pro Tools 10.0 or higher is required to update FWx drivers
for Pro Tools. The FWx card firmware update is compatible
with lower versions of Pro Tools. However, when connecting
FWx to systems running Pro Tools 8.x.x and lower, your
system is limited to 18 channels of simultaneous I/O.

VENUE Link w/ FW32 works in 10.0 and above. Previous versions do not see the new 32Ch interface.

Just a follow up question on this.
If 32 channels works with PT10; and not with PT8 and earlier - Does it work with PT9? Can you use the new drivers with PT9 to get 21 channels?

Question Re: Looks like good news for SC48 Users

Am I seeing this correctly, with the SC48 and the remote box you could have 64 inputs and 32 outs with the Aviom card?
