Pro Tools 12 hangs on "initializing database" when loading

Pro Tools 12 hangs on "initializing database" when loading.

I've tried running Pro Tools 12 with and without my virus protection running.
In both cases it gets stuck in "initializing database" step and I never am able to access the menus.

When looking at the event viewer I get the following message:
Detection of product '{D06966A5-E970-4DBD-88D8-4B10C5ED5623}', feature 'Application', component '{80A8532C-1FC8-4912-8659-CD8A02277005}' failed. The resource 'C:\Program Files\Avid\Pro Tools\SMgr_Resource412.dll' does not exist.

I also get a simular message when trying to run a "repair" on Pro Tools.

I'm having a similar issue, it's taking about 4-5 minutes before it finally launches.

Never had a startup issue like this in the past. It only seems to happen after the computer re-starts. PT starts up fast if you quit and open it again if you DON'T re-boot the computer.

It seems to be a Workspace related. Trashing the files will help but then after rebuilding them it will still be slow.
Having rebuilt I have repeatedly tried to Recalculate Waveforms but this always crashes supposedly due to a lack of RAM..... which there isn't.

Ive been having the same issue since i went to 12.8. It'll relaunch fine after it goes through the initial 5 minute startup, until you restart the computer then it happens all over again. Very frustrating.

I have unfortunately the same issue going on since the 12.8 Update.

For minutes I see only the PT-Logo, which takes forever.

After closing and reopening PT without restarting the computer all works normal.

MacPro running Sierra 10.12.6

Just for the record I have this same problem. While "Launching Pro Tools" the first time after a cold boot Activity Monitor reports a lot of disk read activity. Additionally, this may or may not be related, but the Pro Tools Quicktime server remains hung during and after PT startup.

This behavior began immediately upon the upgrade to 12.7 on both of our systems.

may i ask, are you folks seeing a hang on particular plugins or any process that is showing on the Startup Window ??

just trying to see if there is any correlation between your experiences ..

PT pauses for many minutes while "Launching Pro Tools" is displayed. Loading plugins goes by quickly just like in 12.7

I found the solution in another thread. Installing new iLok licensing manager fixed the slow boot.
