Default 003 Alternate Output To Sub?

Hello Folks,

I have a 003 coming via the trade up from 002R. I have been using an analog mixer which is having a crackling issue when it gets hot. Anyway, I have a sub that I have been feeding from a mono out on the mixer that has it's own level pot. On the 003 can I feed the alternate output a mix that is different from the main outs for the sub? If so, will it work outside of PT on a Mac with the CoreAudio driver?

Thanks,
Robert A. Ober

You can send an alternative mix to the sub by bussing to an aux track and assigning as it's output something other than the main outs. Then connect that out to your sub. This will only work within PT. There is a way to do it with the fader 002 in stand alone mode but I think they got rid of that feature for the 003.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I realize that. I am hoping for a way to utilize the Alternate monitor output

Hi,

If you were doing it outside of ProTools,a nd you still want to do this outside of ProTools, then you still have to do it outside of ProTools.

I suggest you repair your faulty mixer. Otherwise, you can set up a second separate output for the mono sub, and feed it through auxiliary sends, BUT, it will only work like this inside of ProTools, which you said you hopefully do not have to do.

Cheers
