Default Using the right directional button on the 003 causes...

Hi,

this is the entire subject:

"Using the right directional button on the 003 causes the cursor to rewind to the beginning of the session."

And here is Digi's answer :

Quote:
This occurs in Nudge or Bank mode and looks similar to page scrolling very quickly.

If "Link Timeline and Edit Selection" is enabled, the Pro Tools transport will rewind as well. If "Tab to Transient" is enabled, then the cursor will rewind by jumping to each transient, backwards through the session. If Play is pressed at any time, playback will start from the Playback Head Cursor, wherever it was when Play was pressed. Even though Pro Tools transport starts to move forward normally during Playback, the Timeline Insertion cursor still continues to move backward. If any window (Preferences, I/O Setups, etc) is opened, the window will be unresponsive to the mouse.

Workaround:
All of the above behavior can be resolved by hitting the Left button of the directional pad (until you hit the Right button again).

This problem has been fixed in Pro Tools 7.3.1cs4.
Well the fact is, I currently run Pro Tools 7.3.1cs4 and I still have this problem ! Any Idea someone ? Sorry if I missed something in the DUC.

Thx a lot,

Anybody ? There must be someone in there using a Digi 003, hitting sometimes the right directional button ?

Am I the only one with that problem unsolved with 7.3.1cs4 release ?

best regards,

Hi, I bought Digidesign's license, I just noticed it was often quicker to ask directly people who may have the same problem resolved.
Spending hours on the phone waiting for somesone to answer, then doing the same tricks that are explained on internet...

Anybody else ?

Hi, I've answered you in the other post you linked me. I've written to digi tech support.

Do you have any news ?

So I got an answer from Digi...

I did a clean uninstall (using the Uninstall Pro Tools in PTools Utilities, then "clean uninstall") and reinstalled Pro Tools 7.3 which is on 003's install CD. And then digi website's 7.3.1cs4 update.

I had a 003 firmware update (though I had already the latest installed).

And no problem anymore with the right button !

Digi talled me some times you have to reinstall the entire soft for cs4 to be "seen" by PTools.
