Routing channels from Behringer 1604 to 001

Hi there, I just became a new member of the 001 club and I was having some problems getting started as far as mixer routing options to the 001. As you know the Behringer 1604A mixer does not have direct tape outs so I have to do things complicated like. I need to know the best way to get my channels to the digi 001. Here is the setup..
Behringer 1604
Channel 1 Kick
Channel 2 snare
Channel 3 toms Channel 4 Guitar
Channel 5 toms Channel 6 Synth

Then out to Behringer headphone amp for monitoring.

So what in you guys opinion is the best way to go about this mess. Thanks to all in advance. Steve

I have that board. If you are trying to record individual mono or stereo tracks than you are going to have to record one at a time. Use the BALANCED XLR outputs. Buy the XLR to 1/4 cable. The main outs and the submix outs are NOT balanced and you will hear it. I have also noticed more hum by using the stereo channels versus the mono. I only use the mono channels now.

I thought the main outs were balanced at first, but reading the manual, on like one page in the WAY back it says the 1/4 main outs send unbalanced out. The XLR are always balanced.

Since I've gone xlr, I get no hum.

Thanks for the input but I really needed to know how to route the channels to the main outs and ALT 3-4 to the 001. Anyone?

easily my friend those buttons on each channel that look like mutes(they are) are also for routing to the alt 3&4 buss so take kick and snare don't push the mute/3&4 buttons pan them hard left and right and feed left and right out to inputs one and 2 of digi 001 then with the next 2 tracks repeat the process only push the mute/3&4 buttons and the take the alt 3&4 outs to 2 more channels of the digi 001 and if you want to get really snazzy you can also set the auxes to be pre fader(at least one of them and as long as you keep that fader down you can feed another track with an aux send and do 5 isolated trax see ya at work
