Does the Super Plate license validate Little Plate? I would "assume" so, since the Little Plate license is surrendered, but I'd hate to make an ass of me and umption.

SoundToys claim the SuperPlate is an expansion of LittlePlate and includes the LittlePlate EMT 140 sim. Yes I expect Soundtoys to get this right, but sure if I was relying on Little Plate for sessions now I'd be testing/comparing. However no I did not do a comparison, I could not even find the few session I had use Little Plate in, and have that printed out anyhow so happy to just risk it. What I did do was bring it up real quick and test live with a guitar and I liked the choices so I was sold.

No even better advice... based on your good question I actually went and looked more and they give you a locked bundle license back for Little Plate and Super Plate so you definitely have compatibility. And I reinstalled Little Plate and made sure it worked... I've been chasing some issues here with Pro Tools and likely plugins (turns out none of these) so lots of stuff was uninstalled.

Not faulting Soundtoys here at all but maybe pointing this out clearly would encourage more folks to click "upgrade" and spend a little money, the "surrender license" stands out too much esp. since it's a non-issue.

Well, I've just reminded myself that "I'm not buying any more damn plugins" unless I don't have the function covered. I'm backing away slowly, proud of myself for exercising some restraint.

Of course, I'll be watching this space. Just to tempt myself.

I think that question was answered now in the SuperPlate thread on Gearspace.
See page 5, post 141.

As I understand it, Littleplate lives on with its old licence, and SuperPlate has a separate license, and they can co-exist. So you keep both, and old sessions will not be affected.

Thats the way I usually play it too. Im actually a bit surprised to see they don't have "Complete" bundle with both the V Collection plugins and their FX bundle.
