Default loud cds?

Hey everyone. I am having a problem with getting my cd to burn loud. I have the digi001 for windows. I highlight the song, bounce it, save it in my folder, then I drop it into cdadeptec then create the cd. When I play it back it sounds nothing like the mix I did. I have the settings at 44.1, 16bit, stereointerleaved. Still I consistenly get a song that sounds nothing like how I mixed it. It is not the speakers, I've used headphones, sounds all good to me. I've created a master fader, left it at zero. Could it be the burner? I'm using TDK cdrs tried using other brands, still the same problem. I can not get loud levels. Any tips? Thanks,
Graham

Here's how I remedy the situation. I take the mixdown .wav file and I open it in another audio editing program... such as sound forge and I increase the volume there. You can also add compression or apply "mastering" techniques as well. It's just how I remedy the situation. Good luck.

First, make sure your not using low latency monitoring when bouncing. Use the limiter on the master and push up the master faders to make it loud. As Gabe said, use a program to take the resuling file and apply mastering effects to it. I personally use T-Racks.

I usually make the hottest mix I can using just a touch of compression on the master. Then I re-open the bounced file back into PT and push the master fader up all the way and maybe do a little overall eq'ing. This yields me a little more volume in the end, but my question is "why does pushing up the fader the second time around give me more volume without any "noticeable" distortion?"
