Default Intel Turbo Boost 2021.6

If you choose Intel Turbo Boost from the Setup -> Playback Engine, when you quit PT, the processor stays 'boosted'. At least it does on my Mac Pro 7.1 under Catalina 10.15.7.

In order to un-boost it, you have to launch PT again and uncheck the box.

I've been using Turbo Boost Switcher for this for a while. It's the only thing that makes my i9 MacBook Pro usable for audio. The paid version is $10 and its totally worth it. http://tbswitcher.rugarciap.com

The switch in PT does the opposite - it turns Turbo Boost on. Which is fine, but it should release it when you quit PT.

Exactly as described in my first post. It's called Intel Turbo Boost.
MacOS 10.15.7 as specified. Pro Tools 2021.6 as listed.

The “Intel Turbo Boost” option is enabled by default for Intel Macs that support it. If you don’t see the option then your Mac doesn’t use Turbo Boost or doesn’t support disabling it. If you disable it (or leave it enabled), that setting persists for the entire system. In other words, it’s not Pro Tools specific. More info: https://resources.avid.com/SupportFi...ols_2021.6.pdf

Kyle, my problem is not the function, it's the fact that it persists after Pro Tools is shut down. At least the enabling of Turbo Boost does. It stays on permanently, as far as I can tell.
