Default Kontakt 2

I have PT HD3 and Kontakt 2. Can anyone tell me how to assign each instrument to its own PT audio track?

Thanks!

Set up the outs needed in K2 first (1-8 say) Then for and instrument track in PT's use the standard 1&2 outputs. (They need to be bussed for recording) Additional Aux's or audio tracks will get their inputs from the plug-in direct (Pull-down input and you'll see Plug-in >K2 >3-4, 5-6,7-8 outputs).
I usually use aux tracks for monitoring then as I mostly do I pre-fader assign send-F to my record tracks. I keep an 8x template pre built so import session data can get me there quickly. The numbering thing is a bit funny but save-as-default in K2 your preferred outputs and all should remain well.

Thanks VERY much for your reply.

I am strugling big time!

Firstly, how do you set up the outputs in K2? Where do I go in K2 to do this. There doesn't ever seem any oppertunity to set up more than 2. What I want is 8 stereo outputs. Is that possible?

Then in PT I cannot input from the plug-in. It says 'n/a because the plug-in does not support the current track width'

Thanks again!

Chris

hi

kontakt 2.2.3 doesnt support multi outs in protools at the moment its a bug with Kontakt, you need to downgrade to version 2..2.1 to get this function back, a pain i know as i have same problem. look on NIs website in the community form for more info sorry for the bad news.
