Default Adding bulk Unique ID's

Hey all, quick question i hope you can help with-

I have a large FX library i'd like to make sure that all sounds have their Unique ID's stamped on them. Other than importing tens of thousands of sounds into pro tools, does anyone know of a way to add Unique ID's to files in bulk?

Thanks for any ideas.

In Workspaces, build database, right click drive/folder where sounds are

Ya know, for the life of me, i can't find anything in a workspace window that mentions 'build database'. I right clicked on everything i could. I found a 'update index", but that doesn't seem to do the thing? Am i having a slow moment and missing something?

Sorry... seems that doesn't change the Unique ID. In the waveform metadata it's the OriginatorReference field.

Can you go to the finder in list view, open all sub folders (Cmd->?), select all (Cmd a), then drag into the clip list on a blank session?

My mistake. I thought you could create a new ID.

Have you tried "save copy" on a session full of files, including audio? You can preserve folder structure and make a new FX library that way. But I can't say whether PT actually adds IDs in this situation.

If all else fails and you really need this, I know I have some code somewhere which adds a unique ID chunk or replaces it where already present. I'd have to go digging for it and you'd probably have to fix and compile it yourself... and it might not work any more.
