Default Produce feedback in Eleven LE?

Hi, everyone!

I've got the Eleven LE plug-in, but at the moment I have no (electrical) guitar to really try it out. I wonder if it's possible to somehow produce feedback with the plug-in?

microphone + speaker = feedback

easy 1 2 3.

though you it'll be harder to control the pitch or general reaction of the feedback like you would a guitar.

Yeah, I was thinking about guitar feedback (so that I can easily control pitch, vibrato etc.).

yeah i figured as much. there's so many factors in generating good guitar feedback. trying to do the same guitar style feedback without a guitar maybe more trouble than it's worth. The easy solution would be to just grab the cheapest guitar you possibly could and just crank it.

but hey, maybe somebody knows how to achieve what your trying to do.

Sorry, I was a bit unclear in my first post. At the moment, I have no guitar at hand so I can try this myself. But what I'd like to find out, is whether you can create feedback with a guitar, plugging it in to pro tools, running it through eleven without looping things with cabs/speakers/microphones. Hope it was clearer now :) I'm having access to a guitar again in a couple of weeks, but it would be nice to know if somebody knows how to do this!

ah well in that case, that's easy. The plugin will react like a guitar amp as long as you're playing through some sort of monitors, you'll just have to crank it.

you can also use a plugin to generate some feedback at lower volumes with an extra plugin like "Softube Acoustic Feedback"

http://www.softube.com/acoustic_feedback.php

whether or not it'll work without a monitor (speaker) setup, i don't know. But what setup doesn't have monitors to begin with? You could use your laptop speakers for this.

But yes, it's completely possible to achieve feedback with a plugin.

How is this with regards to recording? Is it possible to record feedback without miking my studio monitors, and thus creating "soft" feedback, only in the box?

huh? why would you need to mic up the monitors to record feedback? if you hear feedback while playing through the plugin and recording, you'll hear feedback on playback. I'm confused as to what this "soft feedback" you speak of is.

In other words, pick one of your studio monitors and pretend it's your amp. Bring your guitar close to the speaker to get feedback like you normally would. When you do this as you're recording, everything (including the feedback) would be recorded.

Obviously, in this case, you'll need to track with the monitors rather than headphones, and you might need to increase the volume of the monitors to make it easier to do this.
