Default New Maxtor Drive

Hi Folks,

Just bought a new firewire 800 maxtor drive to go with my powerbook and digi 002.

A couple of questions - do I have to use this drive purely for pro tools audio, or can I partition the drive to use some of it for audio and some for other storage?

Secondly, should I install the Maxtor drivers and Retrospect Express, or just plug it in and go?

Using PTLE 7 and OS X 10.4.3

Thanks,

Sam.
